Autumn Highlights at Corsham Primary

We hope everyone had a restful and refreshing half-term break. As the crisp autumn air settles in, our forest school sessions have become a seasonal favourite—children are bundling up in coats, scarves, gloves, and hats to build cosy dens and explore the woods with Mrs Griffin. It’s a magical way to embrace the outdoors, whatever the weather!

Tech-Free Heroes Party: A Day of Screen-Free Fun

October began with a fantastic twist—our Year 6 pupils took the reins and ran the school for a day! The Tech-Free Heroes Party was a huge success, packed with outdoor activities, competitions, and sports. The focus was on disconnecting from screens and reconnecting with creativity, movement, and each other. It was a joyful reminder of the many ways we can play, learn, and grow without technology. Anti-Bullying Week: "Power for Good" - 10–14 November

Looking ahead, we will be marking Anti-Bullying Week with the theme Power for Good. Children will be invited to wear odd socks to celebrate individuality and kindness, and we’ll be exploring how small actions can make a big difference in creating a supportive school community.

Parent & Carer Tours: Welcoming Future Families

We are excited to welcome prospective families whose children are due to start in September 2026. Our parent/carer tours are a wonderful opportunity to showcase the warmth, creativity, and excellence that define Corsham Primary. We love sharing what makes our school so special.

It’s nearly disco season! Our ever-popular PTA Christmas Disco is coming up at the end of the month. Keep an eye out for more details soon—and don’t forget to check our school calendar for all upcoming events and key dates.

Attendance

Corsham Primary School supports the principles, practice and procedures outlined in the recently updated DfE School Attendance document. We believe pupils can only take full advantage of their education by regular and punctual attendance at school to ensure continuity of learning.

October attendance across both sites was 95%

Unauthorised absences across both sites was 3%

Number of late arrivals across both sites was 0.09%

If you need to report your child's absence, please telephone and leave a message on the office answerphone giving the reason for absence. This is important for our daily registers which must reflect accurately, why a child is not in school. Also, if your child will not be attending school due to a planned event, please request a Leave of Absence form from the school office or find one at the bottom of our home page on the website.

Corsham Schools Football Tournament

A team of Year 6 children from Pound Pill, recently participated in a cluster football tournament and received the "Fair Play Award" for their respectful behaviour throughout. Well done everyone who took part and fabulously represented Corsham Primary.

Congratulations to Ezra Y, Kylo J, Henry P, Matteo P, Noah F, Alysia G, Eli P, Hudson H, Scarlett L, Rocco S and Logan C, who have all had their names entered into the Golden Book for achieving 9 merit cards.

Congratulations to Harry F-O, Fleur B, Freya B, Anna B, and Alexander G, who have all received an achievement pen for achieving 12 merit cards.

Congratulations to Tommy S, Olivia T, Margot J, Eloise P, Georgia S, Ava H and Eva M, who have been entered onto the roll of honour for completing 15 merit cards.

Congratulations to Sophie C, who has received a golden badge of merit for completing 18 merit cards.
