The Tech-Free Heroes Party

The Tech-Free Heroes Party Ran the School for the Day
On 2 October, Corsham Primary was joyfully taken over by the Tech Free Heroes Party, led by our dynamic Year 6 pupils. Dressed in their comfiest clothes and contributing 50p each, children raised funds for Cancer Research UK while championing a powerful message: life is better with less screen time.
📵 No screens allowed! Phones, tablets, computers, and gaming devices were off-limits for the day, encouraging everyone—children and adults alike—to reconnect with nature, creativity, and each other.
🌳 Morning activities included:
- Woodland adventures with Phoebe and Isabella
- Parachute games led by Olivia and Annie
- Football fun with Max, Ollie, and Reggie
The fresh air and outdoor play brought smiles all around!
🗳️ Leadership in action: At lunchtime, our student Prime Minister Reggie and Deputy Annie chaired the staff meeting, sharing feedback and planning the afternoon’s activities. Their confidence and clarity were inspiring!
🎨 During assembly, the Party announced winners of their superhero art competition and spoke passionately about the importance of balancing technology with other enriching experiences. Their message was clear: limit screen time at home and explore other ways to stay active, creative, and connected.
👏 It was a fantastic day with a meaningful theme and outstanding student leadership. Huge congratulations to Year 6 for making it happen—and for reminding us all to unplug and play!
